Notes from State Convention
Ed Gilligan and I attended the State Convention in Middleton on April 28—29. It was very rewarding to hear the good work that the KC does both overseas and in the US through Special Olympics, Coats for kids and numerous other programs.
Most of the State Officers moved up in progression including our new State Deputy Jack Wrbanich. Two new officers entered the system John Huttenhoff was elected to the position of State Advocate and Corey Coonen was elected to the position of State Warden.
The meeting also included the adoption of several (~20) resolutions which are either courtesy resolutions or meaningless, in my mind.
The most remarkable event of the convention is the Saturday PM mass which was this year concelebrated with 4 Wisconsin bishops and numerous priests.
Our combined councils just completed our drive for 2018. We had a very successful drive with excellent participation from all of our council members. Although all of the money is not counted yet, it appears that we will collect in excess of $2,000 to be donated to charities of our choosing.
In June we will be selecting a new slate of officers and I ask that you continue your support. If there are issues, projects that you would like to see your KC get involved in and that you will support please let us know.
